Why did you enter the teaching profession?
I spent years working as a school psychologist in public schools. I reached a point in my career in which I wanted to pass along my knowledge and skills to others. I enjoy working with students, to attempt to inspire them and challenge their perceptions and thinking.
What do you like most about your field?
Psychology covers behavior and thinking. It provides explanations as to why we humans do the things we do. It is a helping profession, to provide assistance to allow others to help themselves.
Fun facts:
I have many favorite books over the years. When reading fiction, I enjoy those that examine characters' motives. For nonfiction, I enjoy reading about new research in the social sciences (big surprise!) and I enjoy traveling to new places and gardening.
