Victoria Hofacker named October Rotary Student of the Month
Terra State Community College student Victoria Hofacker has been named the College’s Fremont Rotary Student of the Month for October.
Hofacker is from Fostoria and currently is a Medical Assistant with ProMedica 360 Health in Fremont. She previously graduated from Arcadia High School in 2013. Now, at Terra State, she is studying to earn her Associate’s degree in Medical Assisting.
“I chose Terra State Community College because I wanted to earn a Phlebotomy Certificate. However, after speaking with Terrie Hopkins, the Coordinator of Medical Assisting/Phlebotomy Certificate, I learned I could earn my Associate’s in Medical Assisting with a couple extra semesters,” said Hofacker.
Aside from classes, Hofacker is the Co-Chair of the Medical Assisting Student Organization (MASO) and volunteers at the COVID-19 vaccine clinics at Terra State with the Sandusky County Public Health. While at Terra State she has received two Outstanding Service Awards, an Award of Excellence and Certificate of Achievement as Co-Chair of MASO.
“I nominated Hofacker simply because she is a student I can always count on. She was co-president for MASO and was literally my right-hand woman. As the advisor, I could always reach out to her for suggestions or help and she was on it. She was an excellent student and kept up on her schoolwork while working two other jobs. She is the best example of what I think a role model student should look like and the best part is, she does everything in life with the most positive attitude,” said Adjunct Instructor Medical Assisting & Phlebotomy, Sarah Poore.
“The experiences I will take after I leave Terra State is coming out of my shell and being able to step up and be a leader. I love working as a Medical Assistant and I look forward to growing professionally,” said Hofacker.
After graduation in May of 2022, Hofacker is moving to North Carolina with her sister and hopes to find a Medical Assistant position.
