The Terra State Titans have named Alexis Nowaczyk as the next head coach of the volleyball program. “I am looking forward to being able to coach the girls and watch them grow to their full potential. Titans Volleyball has built a successful program over the past three years, and I am looking forward to continuing that success in the years to come,” said Nowaczyk.

A native to the greater Toledo area, Nowaczyk grew up playing volleyball for Springfield High School in Holland, Ohio. Upon graduation, she enrolled in the Glass City Volleyball Club and is still an active player in many adult leagues through Toledo Touch Volleyball. She has also coached at Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio.

While playing for Springfield High School, Nowaczyk was named First Team All-American and led the team with digs in 2018. She also helped the team become Sectional Champions in 2017.

Also joining the staff is assistant head coach Daniel Williams. Williams, originally from San Fernando Valley, California, was also named First Team All-American at the high school level in 2011. His college career lead him to Pierce College, Bluefield University, Lourdes University and most recently the University of Essex in the United Kingdom.

He led Pierce College with digs in 2012 and helped secure two Conference Championships in 2012 and 2013. While playing for the University of Essex, Williams’ team also won their conference in 2020. After graduation, he moved back to the United States, where he met Nowaczyk while playing in a pick-up volleyball game.

Nowaczyk and Williams have been volleyball acquaintances and friends for almost four years. Having similar volleyball IQs and within the same community has also provided them with a sense of common ground.

"I am excited to be working alongside Nowaczyk and supporting the College in promoting academic excellence as well as a successful season. My goal as the assistant coach will allow me to utilize my volleyball experience while maintaining the winning mentality needed to reach nationals again this year,” said Williams.

The future of Terra State volleyball looks bright, and Nowaczyk is ready to prepare for the upcoming season. “This upcoming fall season is going to give us the opportunity to build a strong team with new recruits and returning players in order to come together for a successful season,” said Nowaczyk.
