Kiersten Cook Named October Rotary Student of the Month
Terra State Community College student Kiersten Cook has been named the college’s Rotary
Student of the Month for October.
Cook lives in Willard with her family and graduated from Seneca East in 2022, where
she received multiple honor awards, including Principal’s List, Latin Honors, and
National Honor Society.
Cook chose Terra State to obtain a 2-year degree in business, which will be an asset
in becoming a business owner.
Outside of class, Cook likes to spend time with her three sisters, play sports, and
cook. She is an active Terra athlete, playing basketball. Cook has received Academic
All-American and 2nd Team Honors for basketball.
Her nominator, Ted Willman, Head Women’s Basketball Coach, regards Cook as a lead-by-example
leader. “Kiersten will be one of our captains for basketball, and she helps in church
and other community activities. Kiersten is very giving of her time, and our young
players look up to her. Kiersten gave up her $3,000 basketball scholarship so she
could play soccer and will also play softball. I don’t know if any other student would
do that. She is a great role model for all of our students.”
“An experience I will take away from Terra State will be playing with all my different
teammates,” said Cook.
After graduation, Cook wants to get her hair license before pursuing her career goal
of opening her own salon.
