What is Medical Assisting?

The Medical Assisting field combines a variety of administrative and clinical duties including administering medications and injections, patient education, answering phones, and greeting patients. If you enjoy working with people, able to follow instructions and are good at performing multiple things at once, this could be the career path for you.

Students in this program learn to perform a variety of hands-on clinical duties such as assisting the physician with procedures and exams and obtaining vital signs. They also learn about how to display professionalism and ethical responsibility and use effective communication skills in the workplace. At Terra State, our Medical Assisting students are able to multi-task, good listeners, compassionate and supportive, and enjoy working with their hands. Does this describe you?
